Super Sunday

Our very first morning service at The Well, in February 2008, is what we now know as 11:05.  Our night service actually started at 6:00 then, and as we brainstormed about ways to “compete” with the Super Bowl, we looked at each other and said “let’s not.”  We had no clue if we could even have church in the morning at Godby, but we asked, it worked, and we did again for the third time this morning.

Can we please tailgate before and after the services every week?  Lots of fun.

And I’m not sure we’re ever letting the banjo player or our violinist leave.  The Love Story cover and Scott’s brilliant leading and arrangement of 10 musicians on stage made for an incredible combined morning service.  We were pumped to come together.  Here’s today’s music link: (020710 Music)

I’ve still got to listen back to Dean’s sermon for all the Dean-isms, but as I heard most of the message this morning, all I could think about was how much I needed to hear that message, and how much so many around me needed to hear it.  What we’ve done to Jesus the judger and the narrow road (for all!) that exists through Him is unreal.

Shout out to our Kids volunteers: the work they put in goes unseen by most but is a huge part of who we are.

(And the TV outside is for mom’s and dad’s and their crying babies…we’ve got 2 of 7 newborns already here and the rest coming in the next three months, and we’re taking strides to create a welcoming environment for all!)

Fun times with fun friends for the Super Bowl.  Good for them, those Saints.  A busy week ahead for me!

And keep in your prayers the family of Sara Bolf and JIll Gillis’ recovery.  The tragedy that was their car accident and the loss of one young life and the struggle to keep another has rocked us all weekend.  Dean’s updating on Jill’s status as he learns more. These ladies attend The Well, and it’s just an incredible sad time all the way around.
